“Rich Schlachter, a New England native, has gone down in history as the ultimate privateer,” said Bob Coy, founder and director of the USCRA. “He’s an important part of American motorcycle racing history and we’re thrilled to have him part of our vintage racing community.” In the late seventies, and with the help of legendary tuner Kevin Cameron, Schlachter was a top-ranked rider who campaigned his way to the pinnacle of the international racing circuit. He won the 1980 AMA Formula One race and the 1979 AMA Superbike race both at Loudon, New Hampshire.
